Digitalia Public Library offers Spanish language e-books that can be read online or downloaded to devices, as well as language courses for Spanish, English, and "Quick Languages", a course in simple words and phrases in 12 languages. Also offers multimedia sections with art, music and PC instruction.
SimplyE is an e-reader app that makes it easier to browse, borrow and read library e-books. The app brings most of LAPL's e-book collections together in one place, including titles from Overdrive, enki, and Biblioboard. SimplyE also offers access to public domain and openly-licensed books through the SimplyE Collection, and Open Bookshelf.
Travel E-book Collection offers over 300 Premier Travel Reference e-books that include DK Eyewitness Travel Guides and Rough Guides to Countries and Cities. These e-books can be translated into a number of different languages and sections downloaded to your electronic device.
The Open Library has more than one million free e-books available. This library catalog is an open online project of Internet Archive and allows users to contribute books. You can easily search by the title, author, and subject.
Project Gutenberg is a volunteer effort to digitize and archive cultural works, and to "encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks." It was founded in 1971 by American writer Michael S. Hart and is the oldest digital library. Most of the items in its collection are the full texts of books in the public domain.
